Empirical Malum is the work of British artist David J Brown.

After more than 20 years in the military, art became a way of processing memory, conflict, endurance and human nature.

Influenced by heavy music, symbolism and tragic lived experience, the work explores the tension between destruction and meaning. Combining original oil and acrylic paintings, limited editions and large-scale conceptual pieces.

Recent work has been created in collaboration with major bands and exhibitions, including exclusive projects connected to Bloodstock Festival and their prestigious RAM Gallery.
